Nel progetto espositivo per il Padiglione della Repubblica dell'Azerbaijan ritroviamo i più interessanti esponenti della scena artistica del paese.
La tradizione culturale dell'Azerbaijan si concretizza in tre ambiti, principalmente: le miniature, i tappeti e il mugham (un particolare tipo di musica).
I lavori di Tarlan Gorchu, gli interventi sui tappeti di Khatt Art Group e le grafiche di Nayla Sultan che riprendono lo stile tipico della miniatura, si rifanno proprio a questa tradizione.
Il XX secolo ha determinato l'emergere, con il regime sovietico, del realismo socialista che è fortemente presente nel lavoro di uno dei principali esponenti artistici dell'Azerbaijan, Tair Salakhov, che ha saputo oltrepassare i rigidi limiti imposti all'arte nel periodo sovietico.
Il XXI secolo è rappresentato dai video di Teymur Daimi e Farid Rasulov, dai dipinti drammatici e grotteschi di Niyaz Najafov e dalle installazioni di Teymur Rustamov che si soffermano sul tema del destino dell'artista che ha vissuto i terribili momenti che la storia dell'Azerbaijan ha attraversato.

In exposition of the pavilion are distinguished the most interesting phenomena in fine art of Azerbaijan.

Cultural tradition of Azerbaijan rests upon three components – these are miniature, carpet and mugham (specific musical form).

In Azerbaijan pavilion tradition is presented by Tarlan Qorchu's and Khatt Art Group's improvisation on carpet theme and with Nailya Sultan's graphic art in miniature style. XX century brought to Azerbaijan together with Soviet regime method of depicting the reality known as socialist realism which is presented with work of one of the brightest representatives of Azerbaijan art, Tair Salakhov, who stepped over narrow bounds of controlled art of Soviet period. XXI century is presented with Teymur Daimi's and Farid Rasulov's video works, Niyaz Najafov's dramatic and grotesque paintings and Teymur Rustamov's installation, in which the author reflects upon the fate of the artist who lived through the tragic troubles of history of the country.
